Vietnam issues e-visas to citizens of all countries

The Vietnamese government has decided to issue electronic visas (e-visas) to citizens of all countries entering Vietnam, starting August 15, 2023.

Vietnam has expanded its e-visa program to include citizens of all countries, effective August 15, 2023. This means that passport holders from any country in the world can now apply for an e-visa to visit Vietnam online.

E-visas are electronic visas that can be obtained online. They are a convenient and secure way to obtain a visa for Vietnam. E-visas are valid for up to 90 days and can be used for multiple entries into Vietnam.

To apply for an e-visa to Vietnam, you will need to provide the following information:

  • Your passport information
  • Your travel dates
  • Your contact information
  • A passport-sized photo of yourself

Way To apply for an e-visa to Vietnam

To apply for an e-visa, you will need to have a valid passport with at least six months remaining validity, a digital passport photo, and a payment method such as a credit card or PayPal. You will also need to provide your personal information, such as your name, date of birth, and nationality.

Here are the steps on how to apply for an e-visa to Vietnam:

  1. Go to the Vietnam Immigration Department website
  2. Click on the “Apply for E-visa” button.
  3. Select your nationality from the dropdown list.
  4. Read the instructions carefully and then click on the “Next” button.
  5. Enter your personal information, such as your name, date of birth, and passport number.
  6. Upload a digital passport photo and a copy of your passport’s data page.
  7. Select the type of visa you are applying for (tourism or business).
  8. Select the number of entries (single or multiple).
  9. Select the date you want to enter Vietnam.
  10. Enter your intended address in Vietnam.
  11. Pay the visa fee.
  12. Review your application and click on the “Submit” button.

Once you have submitted your application, you will receive an email confirmation. Your application will then be processed by the Immigration Department. If your application is approved, you will receive an email with your e-visa approval letter. You should print out your e-visa approval letter and take it with you when you travel to Vietnam.

Here are some additional tips for applying for an e-visa to Vietnam:

    • Make sure that your passport photo is clear and in color.
    • The file size of your passport photo must be less than 2MB.
    • The file size of your passport’s data page must be less than 5MB.
    • You can pay your visa fee using a credit card or PayPal.
    • The processing time for e-visa applications is typically 2-3 business days.
    • You can check the status of your e-visa application online.

The e-visa fee is US$25. Once your e-visa is approved, you will receive an email with your e-visa approval letter. You will need to print out your e-visa approval letter and present it to the immigration officer upon arrival in Vietnam.

E-visas can be obtained for entry into Vietnam through the following international border gates:

  • Airports: Noi Bai International Airport (Hanoi), Tan Son Nhat International Airport (Ho Chi Minh City), Da Nang International Airport, Cam Ranh International Airport, Phu Quoc International Airport
  • Seaports: Hai Phong International Seaport, Ho Chi Minh City International Seaport, Da Nang International Seaport, Nha Trang International Seaport, Quy Nhon International Seaport
  • Land border gates: Lao Cai International Border Gate, Mong Cai International Border Gate, Huoi Xuan International Border Gate, Dien Bien Phu International Border Gate, Moc Bai International Border Gate, Chau Doc International Border Gate, Ka Long International Border Gate
