Vietnam and New Zealand Aim for Direct Flight Connection
In a significant diplomatic meeting held in Auckland, New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon and Vietnam’s General Secretary and State President Tô Lâm discussed the mutual goal of establishing a direct flight route between the two nations. This initiative is expected to enhance bilateral ties and facilitate greater people-to-people connections.
In their talks, which took place on August 13, Tô Lâm stressed the importance of Vietnam as a key partner for New Zealand, as articulated by the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The two leaders agreed on the necessity to boost cooperation between their nations, aiming to effectively implement the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Action Program set for 2025-2030.
Enhancing Defense and Security Cooperation
One of the pivotal discussions revolved around enhancing defense and security collaboration between the two countries. They agreed to strengthen joint efforts in various sectors, particularly in maritime security, military exchanges, cybersecurity collaboration, and military medicine.
